| Oswald Chambers, author of My Utmost for his Highest... Get into the habit of saying, "Speak, LORD," and life will become a romance. Every time circumstances press in on you, say, "Speak, LORD." Think back to a time when God spoke to you. Do you remember what He said? Was it Luke 11:13, or was it 1 Thessalonians 5:23? As we listen our ears become more sensitive, and like Jesus, we will hear God all the time.
Do we listen? I mean... do we really listen? I think the hardest thing for us to do, even as Christians, is to listen. This is probably one of the most difficult things for me in my life. I find it so easy to bring my burdons to Christ, but I find it so difficult to sit and just listen. This was part of my devotions a few nights ago, and it really impressed upon me how vital it is in our day to day walk with Christ to say, "Speak, LORD." Maybe the reason we don't receive a whole lot of advice, or help, or answers to our dilemas is because we do all the talking. Don't get me wrong, God loves to hear us talk and converse with him. He wants us to be in constant communication with our father... But, he also wants us to listen to what he has to say too. I'm so excited to see what God has in store for my future... Until then, Speak LORD, I'm listening! Today I received my very first letter from my sponsoer child... I'm so excited! His name is Frazer. He was born in my birthplace, Malawi Africa. He has a family of four other siblings, two brothers and two sisters, and his mom and dad. He plays soccer, loves to do chores around the house, loves spending time with his youth group at church... but most of all, he loves to spend time with his family. Frazer wants to be successful in his life, and I feel so blessed to be a part in his life...
So, more on life when I return... until then, im out.... bed is calling my name and I am responding :) In Christ -ry- |
