Get into the habit of saying, "Speak, LORD," and life will become a romance.  Every time circumstances press in on you, say, "Speak, LORD."  Think back to a time when God spoke to you.  Do you remember what He said?  Was it Luke 11:13, or was it 1 Thessalonians 5:23?  As we listen our ears become more sensitive, and like Jesus, we will hear God all the time.

Do we listen? I mean... do we really listen?  I think the hardest thing for us to do, even as Christians, is to listen.  This is probably one of the most difficult things for me in my life.  I find it so easy to bring my burdons to Christ, but I find it so difficult to sit and just listen.  This was part of my devotions a few nights ago, and it really impressed upon me how vital it is in our day to day walk with Christ to say, "Speak, LORD."  Maybe the reason we don't receive a whole lot of advice, or help, or answers to our dilemas is because we do all the talking.  Don't get me wrong, God loves to hear us talk and converse with him.  He wants us to be in constant communication with our father... But, he also wants us to listen to what he has to say too. 

I'm so excited to see what God has in store for my future... Until then, Speak LORD, I'm listening!

 

Today I received my very first letter from my sponsoer child... I'm so excited!  His name is Frazer.  He was born in my birthplace, Malawi Africa.  He has a family of four other siblings, two brothers and two sisters, and his mom and dad.  He plays soccer, loves to do chores around the house, loves spending time with his youth group at church... but most of all, he loves to spend time with his family.  Frazer wants to be successful in his life, and I feel so blessed to be a part in his life...

this is my prayer for my life... that i may finish the race and complete the task the Lord has given me.  I will give complete credit for everything good in my life to Jesus Christ! 

this is a post of quotes i guess... i was reading my devotions the other night and came across a quote by Teddy Roosevelt.  It said,

"It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.  The credit belongs to the man in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly... who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who have never known neither victory nor defeat."

Run the race... run it with all your might... run it for the glory of God the father...  It is then and only then that you will see victory!
